Formed in 2007 through the association of Gavin Magrath and Sarah J. O’Connor, Magrath O’Connor* brings together two litigation lawyers with broad commercial experience in addition to their more focused practise areas.

Commercial Litigation: We pride ourselves on understanding the needs of small and medium enterprises, and on providing advice that is not only legally sound but economically efficient for a growing business in a competitive commercial landscape.

Maritime and Transportation Law: We advise clients both foreign and domestic on liabilities arising out of the international carriage of goods – an undertaking that entails a wide range of legal liabilities based on industry-specific regulations, legislation, and international treaties.

Civil and Personal Injury Litigation:  We focus on bringing claims against government authorities, including the police. We pride ourselves on being approachable and committed to obtaining the best possible results in the most cost effective matter.  Should the need arise we will visit immobile clients at their place of residence. Contingency fees are available in special circumstances.

State Accountability: We represent clients in claims against public authorities and officeholders, including police and the Federal and Provincial governments, for negligence, misfeasance, and abuse of authority and in respect of both their direct and vicarious liability.
